Phi Omega Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. held its Ivy Pearl Pageant on Saturday, June 8, 2024, at Weldon Auditorium in Manning. Dr. Gwendolyn Hudson Harris served as Mistress of Ceremonies.
Seven contestants, ages 6-13, participated in categories including Formal Wear, Talent, Introductions, a Question-and-Answer Period, and a community service project. Contestants competed for the titles of Little Miss Ivy Pearl and Miss Ivy Pearl. The winners were:

2nd Runner-up: Jhourni Rendell
Miss Ivy Pearl: Kelise Gist
1st Runner-up: Londyn Baldon
2nd Runner-up: Jenesis Ford
3rd Runner-up: Ella Levy
Judges for the event were Deitra McKnight-Johnson, Dr. Valarie Gray-Williams, and Na’Asia Pringle. Laresha McDaniel served as Teller. Entertainment was provided by Julius “P.J.” Ragin Jr., Danielle Porter, Madison Junious, and DJ Bill “Soldier Boy” Lemon. Tiffany Houser was the event photographer.
Under the leadership of chapter President Jacqueline Sheroid-Scott, the Special Events Committee, and the entire Phi Omega Omega Chapter, the Miss Ivy Pearl Pageant promotes service to mankind. Through ads and sponsorships, the pageant provides financial assistance to students pursuing higher education. With the help of community-minded individuals, the chapter aims to ease financial hardships and support students in achieving a bright and successful future.
