MT Helms, 86, passed away on Saturday, July 6, 2024. He was born in Union County, North Carolina on June 2, 1938 to the late Johnny Helms and Lola Helms. He is also preceded in death by his first wife, Frances Helms; second wife, Annie Sims Helms; son, Mark Helms; several brothers and sisters, and one graddaughter Jodie Helms.
Funeral services will be held at 11:30 AM, Saturday, July 13, 2024 at Gordon Funeral Chapel with burial to follow at Lakeland Memorial Park. The family will receive friends prior to the service at Gordon Funeral Service from 10:00 AM to 11:15 AM.
MT is survived by his son, Michael Timothy Helms (Robin); daughter, Lorrie Helms Gettys (James); step-daughter, Sheila Alford (Thomas); sisters, Mary Helms, and Johnie Paxton; eight grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Santee Baptist Church, 12954 SC-260 Manning, SC 29102, and that those donations be marked In Memory of MT Helms.
